Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is your day!

And I'm not there.

I am off being an adult.

The one you raised me to be.

I am doing what we always dreamed!

Aren't you proud?

Who would've thought that life would happen like this?

That we would not be together for your birthday.

I thought I would always see you on this day.

That I would make you a cake and you would pretend to love it like you do with all the food I make.

It's hard.

I want to be there.

I want to be by your side all the time.

Never leave.

Leaving is so hard.

How do you leave the man that spent half of his life raising you?

How do you not make time for his birthday?

It's hard when you have a job, and a life of your own.

That he is not a major part of anymore.

You might not always be by my side Dad...

But you are always with me.

I love you to the moon and back.

Happy Birthday. xo

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
