The picture above is my happy place, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Melville. Where is your happy place? I'm sure all of us have one.
With the holidays around the quickly approaching, many of us need that extra motivation to maintain our happiness. So, here is some very useful advice that will help you make the very best of this holiday season!
That picture above is my happy place, church. The presence of everyone gathered for daily mass and reflection of word of the lord is beautiful and spiritual. Where is your happy place?
Happiness is something that should never be allowed to be taken away from you. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something that you desire, have a passion and talent for and feel committed too. You are your own person. Don't feel intimidated or controlled by anyone or anything.
If you feel you want to make a difference in the world, and you want to give back, then go for it! Don't let anyone set you back or restrain you in doing so.
The bottom line is just be YOURSELF!! I am very happy with who I am and you should too!! They say happiness is something easier said than done, but once you begin to achieve happiness for yourself, you will begin to realize it's something you can be a catalyst for.
So this holiday season, spread the cheer, have no fear and be happy! Because the holidays only come around once each year!
God created each of us with the hopes of gaining acceptance and happiness in life. God loves us all equally and openly. As I stated earlier in a video, god is happy when we have a good relationship with him.
As a catacheum and soon to be catholic, I can say I maintain a strong, loving and committed relationship to god. God the father, god the son and god the Holy Spirit. And that is what we call the "Holy Trinity".
Whether it is going to church or wherever your place of worship is, or volunteering in your community or helping a fellow friend or family member, that is one way to keep that strong vibe with god. For me, church and religion is where I get a large portion of my happiness. Hearing the word of the lord and reflecting on it, makes me that much more aware and grateful for my life. Receiving blessings and prayers from priests and deacons, makes me feel that much better about myself. I feel glorified, amazed and blessed all at the same time.
The mass, we consider as a gathering, a celebration and a time of great reflection and eternal happiness and forgiveness. We begin to feel prosperous, wiser and more knowledgeable. We are at peace with our minds and at peace with one another.
And this holiday season, it is my hope, we can maintain that same peace. That same unconditional love and passion we have for god, also to one another as well.
Despite, the differences we have, we all are Americans, and we are all looking to strive for happiness and eternal and everlasting greatness. We all have that one common goal.
But to get back to happiness, go find something you enjoy and just keep going at it. Maintain that hobby or activity that makes you feel the greatest.
And this holiday season, may all of our wishes and prayers are answered and that we can all maintain happiness now and eternally. May the lord be with us and guide us through any hardships we experience.
And one last note, thank you, everyone, for the incredible and overwhelming amount of support and feedback I have received throughout these first few months of writing on Odyssey! It has been an amazing adventure and has certainly given me a great amount of happiness! May god bless you all and may you have a joyful holiday season filled with much love, peace, and light!
