It's said that "Happiness depends on ourselves more than anyone else." What is the ultimate purpose of human existence? Happiness is often conceived as a subjective state of mind, and in my opinion, happiness is the end goal of something that encompasses your life. Happiness is self-made; sure, someone or something can make you temporarily happy, but life-long happiness depends on your person. People come and go, as do those next new iPhones you really want each year, but is that something that makes you happy deep down?
Happiness shouldn't be defined as an item or a person. If you think about it, everyone you meet in life is temporary other than your family, for the most part. Boyfriends, girlfriends, or friends nine times out of 10 will take a turn for the worst. I can name at least 10 relationships I've had that now have distance, but not even for a bad reason or fallout, but just because the galaxy wouldn't allow it to last.
For me, being at my happiest is when I'm at a full mentally happy state. I am at peace with myself and my surroundings. It's when I have nothing to worry about, maybe even on a full stomach, and my family surrounding me. The ideology of happiness is something that is wholeheartedly engaged around the world. People are ultimately looking for this higher state of happiness and what it takes to gain that. In my mind, happiness is not only achieved mentally but also physically. Here are four ways to achieve ultimate happiness that I've come up with:
1. You should work out, not only because it's good for you, but because it makes you feel good. Not only for your physical health, it is also beneficial for mental and emotional.
2. Take time out for yourself, whether it be from your workplace, school, boyfriend, girlfriend, family, etc. You deserve some time to reflect on yourself and your own personal happiness.
3. Drink a green juice every once in a while. Yeah, it's green and might not taste the best, but it does wonders for your mind and body.
4. Do something kind for someone else, whether it be a simple door opening or someone carrying too many things. Whatever it is, you get the point, just help someone.
5. Sit outside for a while and take in your surroundings. Figure out what you want to do with your life: think about all the things that are important to you and what makes you the happiest, and figure out a way or ways to make sure you never lose sight of that.
