I keep hearing everyone's New Years resolutions; to loose weight, change, better themselves, but how many people are going to actually stick to something like that? I think the goal is to have a broader resolution. To be happy, for instance. How many people wake up every day and decide to do something that will make them happy?
I don't understand college students constantly complaining about school. It was your decision to go to college, why are you spending all that money just to be unhappy every day? If school doesn't make you genuinely happy then leave. We are entitled to do whatever we choose with our lives, so go out and do what makes you happy. Don't get up and do something that makes you unhappy. I am a firm believer in doing what makes you happy, because you need to be happy in order to accomplish anything. If you are trying to lose weight you still need to eat foods you enjoy in order to be successful with the weight loss.
I don't like people choosing for me what will make me happy. That sickens me. Like okay, you know what's going to make me happy? I bet you aren't even sure what makes yourself happy yet. I never understand this. And I never understand the people who care what others are doing or what makes others happy. You don't need to worry about anyone else. Worrying about others is where people go wrong. You can't ever depend on others for your own happiness. I recently read a fabulous quote that I had to share:
This quote just tells us that we can't even depend on others for the negative that happens to us, so if we can't depend on them for the negative that happens to us then how can we depend on them for the positive? We are the cause for our own happiness, always. That's how I look at it, because people are always looking to get ahead. They will do a ton to drag you down, but it will take even more for them to pick you up. So, if others don't cause our sadness then they certainly do not cause our happiness.
