We all have that one friend (or friends) that has been our friend for so long that you can’t remember when you actually became friends. You’re now trying to think about it, aren’t you? How long have I known them? You probably can’t remember, it has been that long. Here are some things that will only happen if you’re been friends FOREVER.
1. You can sit and talk for hours and still not run out of things to say.
Whoa, it’s 10 already! We’ve been talking for like, five hours. Wow, I should probably go home. Oh wait, did I tell you about this chick at my job...?
2. You already know they’re going to be in your wedding.
You may not even have a groom or bride yet, but you know without a doubt that this person is going to be with you on this day. You’ve probably known this for years.
3. You’ve finished each other’s sentences or thoughts before.
You have the same brain, so of course you would be thinking the same thing. If you’re sitting there thinking, "Well, that's never happened to us before," just you wait. It’s bound to happen eventually.
4. A text from them can brighten your day.
Whether it's just them saying hi or telling you a random fact they just learned, it makes your okay day jump to a great day!
5. You can pick up right where you left off.
You probably haven’t seen each other in years, but you pick right back up like you say each other yesterday.
6. You don’t have secrets.
Secrets? What are those? You’ve known each other so long that they can tell when you’re lying. They know you better than you know yourself.
7. When they get a new partner, you immediately stalk their social media to make sure they’re worthy.
Come on, what else would a best friend do? You HAVE to make sure that they look like they could really take care of your friend. Does your friend look happy? Good, that’s what matters.
8. They’ve seen you change over the years and still love you.
This friend has probably seen you through your elementary/middle school awkward phase and still chooses to be seen with you. Now that’s love!
9. You’re already planning the next time you’re going to see them.
Next summer, in two years, it doesn’t matter. You know you’re going to take a road trip to see them soon! Even if they don’t know about your mental planning, it’s gonna happen!
10. You’ve had fights; there’s no way you couldn’t. But you always figure them out.
At the end of the day, you can’t imagine your life without them in it. No matter what you fought about, you know you need them more than this silly argument.
11. You know they’ll always be there for you.
No matter the distance between you or how long it has been since you last talked, you know that if you need them they’ll be there. They’ve got your back and you’ve got theirs.
These are the types of friendships that last a lifetime, no matter how crazy your lives are. Never let this friend go! They are the absolute best.
