Life is tough. Sometimes things come up that we feel we can't handle. But, alas, I'm here to show you otherwise. With assistance from the one and only Meredith Grey, I will show you some ways to help you handle life.
1. Always have your person.
We all have the Christina Yang to our Meredith Grey. In other words, we all have a "person" or "persons" in life. Your person could be your best friend, your roommate, your lover, your mom or any other person with whom you are extremely close. Your person always knows exactly what will help you get through the tough times. Whether it's ice cream and a chick flick, a reckless adventure or a unique surgery, your person will get you to where you need to be and pick you up from whatever low point you may be at in your life.
2. Remember the Post-It.
The Post-It symbolizes marriage for Meredith, but in everyday life, it can stand for any promises you make. Write your goals or promises to yourself or others on a Post-It and sign it with someone, maybe your person. Always remember the Post-It and strive to accomplish your goals or fulfill your promises. Keep it close to you in your life. Maybe even frame it and hang it over your bed.
3. "Pick me. Choose me."
Sometimes you need to be there for yourself. In some situations, worrying about everyone else and catering to their wants or needs will only leave you in a worse place. Choose yourself when you need to. Don't be afraid to worry and care for yourself, even if the situation is difficult. If you aren't happy with your life or satisfied with what surrounds you, helping others isn't as easy and just brings you down that much more. Choosing yourself is extremely important in those situations.
4. Be extraordinary.
Never be ordinary. You are unique. No one else can ever be you. So make the best of yourself. Strive to reach your dreams and achieve even your hardest goals. Never settle. Take your life where you want it to be, no matter how scary or unlikely things may be. Throw out the ordinary in your life and become extraordinary. Achieve things those surrounding you haven't achieved.
5. Dance it out.
When all else fails, dance it out. Turn on your favorite dancing song and shamelessly dance it out. Even if you're by yourself in your room, with your person or your sister. Dancing out your problems or frustrations is a simple way to boost your mood. Throwing your energy into dancing helps you relax and have fun, even when times are tough.
Although life can throw various troubles your way, there's always a way to handle what you come across. Some of these ways can help any issue in life. Try them. They work for me and Meredith, why couldn't they work for you? Find your person, worry about yourself, remember the Post-It, be extraordinary and when all else fails, dance it out!
