8 Books That You Need To Read Before The Clock Strikes Midnight On Halloween

It's October, and Halloween is just around the corner. If you're like me, that means that you're looking for a good book to read that will get you in the mood for Halloween! There are tons of great options. If you want a book that puts a chill down your spine, there are a lot of terrifying horror books to read. Here are eight books that you need to read before Halloween!

1. "The Outside" by Stephen King

This book is a must-read! It's not exactly the scariest book that Stephen King has written before, but it's definitely a page-turner. The book is about a child who is brutally murdered, and all the evidence points to a well-respected man in the town. Even though all of the evidence points to the character, there is also evidence that suggests that the character was nowhere near the location where the child was murdered.

The book keeps you guessing with each turn or twist in the story, and it's hard to put down. It's also chilling to read at times, and it's a great book to read before Halloween!

2. "Year One" by Nora Roberts

This is a good book for anyone who enjoys fantasy or a dark read. The story is similar to Stephen King's book "The Stand" where a virus wipes out the majority of the population on earth. People begin to turn on each other, and others simply try to fight to stay alive. In addition, weird things begin to happen to a number of people. The book has a lot of fantasy in it, which is something I initially didn't expect when I started reading the book, and it can be very dark at times. However, if you enjoy fantasy and want a book that you won't be able to put down, this is the perfect book for you!

3. "IT" by Stephen King

If you want a book that will keep you up at night, this is the perfect book to read before Halloween! The story focuses on people's fear of clowns, and Stephen King uses this common fear as a way of terrifying his readers. The story takes place in a town named Derry where a group of children discovers a monster that disguises itself as a clown and murders any children that it can find in the town.

The book is mostly similar to the mini-series adaptation, and it's definitely something that will give you nightmares if you have a fear of clowns. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys horror books!

4. "The Body Finder" by Kimberly Derting

If you enjoy YA books, then this is a great book to read before Halloween! The book is about a girl who has the ability to find people's bodies and see the imprint of the person killed on the murderer. However, her ability can be dangerous, especially since it can alert killers that she's close to finding them guilty. It's one of my top favorite reads! My favorite thing about the book is that there are chapters where it will go into the mind of the killer and leave you guessing as to who murdered the victim. It's chilling at times and can leave you feeling disgusted or horrified.

5. "The Shinning" by Stephen KingĀ

You recognize this book right away if you've seen the movie. "The Shining" was always one of my favorite Stephen King stories! If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, the story is about a boy whose father gets hired for a new job to take care of a famous hotel called The Overlook Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado during the winter when the hotel is closed due to heavy snow and blizzards.

When the boy, Danny, and his parents come to the hotel to live and take care of it during the winter, they discover that hotel is not a place that you would want to check into. The story is a terrifying read and is great for anyone who loves Stephen King books!

6. "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman

If you enjoyed Tim Burton's "Coraline" clay animation, then you'll be interested in finding out what the original book is like compared to the movie. The story is about a girl named Coraline who moves into an old run-down house with her parents, who at the time are short on money.

When she grows restless and tired of her parent's dismissal of her, she discovers a small door in the house that leads to another world that seems too good to be true. When she visits the world, she finds that if it seems too good to be true, then it usually is. The story is very creepy and chilling to read. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys a book that will haunt them long after reading it.

7. "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Beautiful Creatures Novels

This book is good for anyone who enjoys dark fantasy YA books. The story takes place in the south where a teenager named Ethan finds a new girl in school who appears to be very different from the normal group of local girls. When an incident occurs in his classroom after the girl gets bullied by the other students, he finds out that there is a lot of things that he doesn't know about the new girl. I recommend this book to anyone who loves YA and wants a good fantasy book to read before Halloween!

8. "The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson

This is one of my top favorite stories to read of all time! It's a perfect book for if you enjoy classical books or want something that sets a good creepy atmosphere for Halloween. The book is a gothic novel about a lawyer in London named Gabriel John who one day investigates a strange incident with his friend Dr. Henry Jekyll. Apparently, Dr. Jekyll examined patients who were mentally ill and created a medicine that would cure them. However, when he experiments on himself with his own invention, something very strange occurs that causes him to become dangerous to others. The book focuses on the dual nature of good and evil.

If you find yourself needing a good book to read this Halloween, you should check out one of these books before Halloween begins!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
