All girls dream of having the perfect guy friend. It is like instant access into the "guy world." Advice from a guy himself? I don't think you could score any bigger. Having a guy best friend, however, brings so much more though than a girl without a guy best friend could imagine. I would know because up until right before middle school, I was that girl who longed for that insight and friendship from a guy. Maybe I just happened to be blessed with the ultimate guy friend, but I gained so much more than advice from our friendship.
So here's to you.
Thank you for listening to my petty female issues. And I mean really listening. You're so easy to talk to about everything and anything, and I know no matter what the issue is or what time of day it is, you'll be there to listen, and not make me feel completely crazy. Thank you for keeping me grounded and not letting me forget where I came from. Thank you for reminding me of who I am and why there is and never was anything wrong with that person. Thank you for making sure to make me laugh at least once daily. Thank you for continuing to grow with me and laugh as we do.
You've been there since the beginning. You're the person who I think of when I talk about my childhood. Whether it be singing to Rupert Holmes' Pina Colada in my basement, having a paint fight or watching scary movies and laughing until I cried making fun of them, you were there. You've seen my worse, my best and everything in between. You've made my life so much easier being able to have insight from two different types of friends-my girlfriends and you. More importantly, you have always managed to make me happy.
You've always known that our relationship would be irreplaceable in my life. I could never share the same amount of memories with another guy friend. You've always known I could never trust another guy friend in the way I do you. You've always known that no matter what we have been through or the arguments we have had that I would always be there at the end of the day. Our relationship is indescribable.
I know that whenever I meet new friends or have a new romantic relationship in my life, I will have to explain who the guy is whose name keeps popping up on my phone, or the one who's in the picture with me I have framed in my room. I always have to laugh and explain that you are my best friend, brother and the biggest freak I know all rolled into one. You are the most energetic, caring and hilarious person I know. I cannot wait to see what you accomplish in this life as you have so much to offer the world. I hope the world gets to see everything I see in you. No matter where you go in this life, know that you're part of me, and that will forever be something that other people in my life will have to understand.
