In case spending copious amounts of money on tuition and for textbooks doesn’t make you feel bad enough, here are some other ways that college makes me feel guilty.
1. Never finishing my plate of food at the dining hall.
Maybe it’s because the food was trash or maybe it’s because I don’t understand portion control, but either way, I feel guilty when I watch that plate slowly drift away on the conveyor belt.
2. Taking a bus to a building within walking distance.
I know, I could be worse, but some days, I don’t have the strength to walk that extra hundred yards.
3. Sleeping in instead of going to an early class.
The thoughts will hit me, just as I’m turning my alarm off, that I could definitely skip this class or get the notes from someone. It’s only the third week of school and I’m having trouble getting up for classes.
4. Netflix.
Everything is more difficult when you have a show to binge-watch and an upcoming exam.
5. Not doing laundry often enough.
That monstrous pile of dirty clothes grows and grows until you run out of clean underwear. The struggle is real.
