Picky eater? Maybe the buffet-cafeteria atmosphere just isn't your thing. Despite what other students say, you don't have to eat at TDR in order to be fed.

Let me just preface this by saying that I don't eat a proper breakfast, so I'll only be covering lunch and dinner places.

Here's a brief description of each eatery from north side to the south side of campus.

Argo Tea

Most would travel all the way to the far corner of Katzen to come here for a drink, but they also sell Macarons, Muffins, Croissants and other Sweets, as well as Paninis, Quiches, and Salads.

Megabytes Cafe

Salads and sandwiches of many cultures can be found here. Also, it has smoothies, bubble tea, bagels, yogurt and other small snacks and teas.

Starbucks

Besides coffee, Starbucks carries breakfast sandwiches, bistro boxes, bagels and bakery items, sandwiches, salads and yogurt.

Asian Flavors

Unsure. Would not recommend. Have not heard good things... or anything for that matter...

POD/Eagle's Nest

Despite the raised prices, you can get real snacks and frozen food as well as ice cream. Not to mention, you can even use a meal swipe here. Definitely, it's saving grace is that it's open until 2 a.m. Most other places close at 9 p.m. Not cool.

Subway

It's almost like any other standard Subway

Note: Expect massive lines at peak hours

Elevation Burger

Possibly the most least questionable of the non-sandwich meat options on campus. The fries are awesome, but sometimes the wait can be quite long. Don't forget to keep your receipt and listen for your name.

Bene Pizza and Pasta

Despite pasta being in the name, I've never actually seen any pasta here. Questionable. The tenders and pizza are average, but the curly fries are rather exciting and fun.

Global Fresh

I'm also unclear about what exactly they sell here, but the Campus Dish site makes it sound promising. Though I've heard no raves personally. "A global flavor experience that changes throughout the semester to keep it fresh and exciting. Authenticity in our selection of ingredients gives the customer a true cultural experience. This is the only such concept nation wide." If it's such a great concept, how come it's the only one in the whole nation.

Freshii

There's always a huge line, but they sell salads mainly, and perhaps other bowls, burritos and yogurts.

Einstein's

Basically any type of bagel with any thing inside from cream cheese to hummus, a breakfast sandwich (eggs) or a pizza bagel. Also have tempting looking salads and other bagel-sandwich hybrids.

American Cafe (Ward)

Similar to Megabytes - has sandwiches and other like.

Happy eating and only four weeks left! Use up those Meal Swipes or at the end of the semester, donate them to Eagle Endowment!
