Everyone knows a squad isn’t official until you have the ultimate group chat name. It can’t be basic. It can’t be something any other squad can have. This is your defining moment. In a generation where group chats are as official as a marriage certificate, this name is your wedding band. But, how can you come up with such a worthy, original name? Well, I have some tips for you.
Think of a favorite squad memory. Maybe it was that time your friend fell on her face at Target, or that time when your squad took a trip to the movies in the middle of the night and dressed up as movie characters. These are some great moments; now put them into names.
If that doesn’t work, think of what your squad means to you. Are you all dance friends? Did you meet in your freshman dorm? Are you Cardi B’s fan club? Now, put a label to it. Think “We make $$ moves.”
If all else goes wrong, the last hope is just to pick your least favorite person in the group, or the person your squad makes fun of the most, and single them out. Use one of their most embarrassing stories or simply write something funny about them. Bam. You have a group chat name.
It’s essential that you make the most of this group chat name. It’s like your badge of honor. Wear it proudly. Don’t change it every week. Don’t edit it constantly. Keep it how it is; it will grow on you.
