At most times, I can understand how hard it must be to remain positive on a daily basis. Whether it's waking up in the morning for work, going to class on time, or just dealing with friends and family. There are days where you just feel like things aren't going right. Especially when there's stress with friends and family. There are always ways to keep your guard up. Just remember when things aren't going the way that you want them to, staying positive is key.

I know some things are easier said than done, however, that is not always a way to look at it. Do you ever look at something and it automatically reminds you of something? Or do you ever listen to a certain song and it makes you think of a time that really made you laugh or cry or maybe both? Those are always times that people love remembering.

As life happens the positivity tends to disappear. When that happens it is probably for a few reasons. The first being, what just happened in the moment. Let's say you get into a fight with a friend about something that you can't seem to let go of, just remember a few things. When you keep your guard up and tell it like it is, you're always going to get mixed reactions. You're either going to receive a stern reputation or if you don't, you'll let it bother you for a long time.

Keeping your guard up is something that is not always the easiest, but it is easy once you're being honest with yourself and others. In life we are not expected to get along with every person we come across. There is no such thing as having the perfect lifestyle because as humans we would not be able to come across trial and error. There would also be no room for improvement.

Now, I'm not the type of person that likes confrontation, however, I am also not the type to take anyone's nonsense. I refuse to be a pushover for anyone. I've never been the type to enjoy drama, both with family or friends, and I don't plan to enjoy it anytime soon. If you've had drama with someone in the past, as bad as it might have been at the time, remember that time always passes. There is a gap to reflect and grow.

In order to move on, you have to let the past stay behind you. In order for you to grow and prosper as a person, you can't let something that someone said about you in the past affect your growth. Don't let negativity affect any of your dreams. As cheesy as that sounds, it's the truth. Showing that you can be cordial is a sign of growth. That also reminds the person that you will always keep your guard up and show no mercy whatsoever. Never show weakness when you're trying to stay strong. There are some difficult days, but remember that improvement is always there. Positivity matters.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
