Life changes and so do you

Growth

As we live our life it all revolves around one thing, growth. Growth comes in many different ways and may not even be seen until you change.

Growing up I have always felt like an outcast in many things and I still do sometimes. I always wondered why I couldn't be like the girl that was really pretty or be the person that everyone loved. But time and learning helped me realize who I am.

I was raised in a pretty small town surrounded by the same people until I left for college. Sure as I lived there and grew older I felt as if I was growing up and becoming a better version of myself. It wasn't until I was placed on my own I saw the potential of who I can be.

Like I said growth comes in many places and you can grow in absolutely anything. I want to grow in my faith, in my love for myself, in my life passions and my traits, in my wisdom and kindness for others. There is always a way to make the world and yourself a better place.

As I look to grow I can see all of my opinions and beliefs forming instead of conforming to what I have always known. Without moving forward there is no way there can be successful futures. The world changes every day and I have decided I want to be the one person I can count on and can change with the times.

Living your life in your bubble can make you happy but I want to use my growth and change as a person to experience all the world has to offer. We would never see flowers if they didn't grow from seeds. There is ways that you can plant your own seed and see how you will bloom with all the world will have to offer.

"We cannot become what we want by remaining who we are." -Rachel Adams

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
