They seemed to be the first thing everyone noticed.

Growing up with glasses can be a struggle. Even if you didn't face bullying from your peers, it was still rough. But, if you went through your formative years wearing glasses, these things were definitely said to you at one point.

Here are 11 things you for sure heard once or twice if you wore glasses:

1. "Can I try on your glasses?"

This is then normally followed by a comment about how "blind" you are or how blurry everything looks.

2. "Woah, your eyes look so big!"

You may not have heard this if your prescription isn't very high or if you're more on the minus side. But for the rest of us, you probably had someone tell you that your eyes looked big, or the reverse, that they were small when you took your glasses off.

3. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

Your friend would suddenly be amazed when you could tell they were holding up 2 fingers, even after you'd accurately done it multiple times.

4. "Woah, you look better/different without your glasses!"

You almost certainly heard this at a sleepover or the first time you went swimming with friends. To be fair though, they look different when you take your glasses off too.

5. "Are you ever going to get contacts?"

'Cause wearing little plastic lenses on my eyeballs sounds a whole lot more appealing than something you can just look through.

6. "You must be really smart!"

Even if you were smart growing up, it sucked to always be assumed as the smart kid or the nerd simply because your vision isn't as good as the average person's.

7. "Can you see with your glasses off?"

Technically, yes. You can see with your glasses off, but the world is a lot less defined and a lot more blurry.

8. "I wish I wore glasses."

Everyone knows at least one kid who tried to fake an eye test and get glasses. Even if they somehow succeeded, it never lasted long.

9. "It sucks you can't play sports."

It didn't matter whether you actually played sports or not. People often like to assume that you didn't like or couldn't play sports. Even if you were good at them.

10. "Ooh, your glasses changed!"

Ah, the magic of transitions lenses that allowed you to wow your friends when you went outside to recess. Your normal frames turned into stylish sunglasses.

11. "Are those real?"

You most likely heard this when it was popular to wear frames with the lenses popped out. It didn't matter if they'd never seen you without glasses before, they'd just assume you were on top of the trends.

Despite all the misunderstood comments, you still think wearing glasses is pretty cool and you wouldn't trade in your funky frames for anything.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
