Throughout your life you will have to work in order to make money-- where you work though, is up to you. Every job has its ups and downs, and you can always find someone who knows your work struggles. Well, this is a list of things that all grocery store clerks can relate to, whether you love or hate them, just in case you think you're alone.
1. When you first start working you know where nothing is.
When you start your job at the grocery store your biggest fear is that a customer will ask you where a certain item is, and then you'll freeze up because you have no idea.
2. When customers reach around the register and scan their loyalty cards.
You're in the middle of ringing out an order and then all of a sudden there is an arm that is blocking the only thing you really have to do: there's no way you don't get annoyed.
3. A message pops up on the register that you've never seen before.
Everyone makes mistakes, and when mistakes are made, the register will sometimes give you some weird message you don't know what to make of and you'll think you broke everything.
4. You have a huge order, but no bagger.
Sometimes the bagger you had will wander away to do other odd jobs or are called away to help someone else, but it is no less frustrating when you have a huge order and the customer stands there to watch you struggle slowly both ring and bag as they avoid helping.
5. You will sometimes be blessed with customers that don't just watch you struggle.
Some customers are super nice and sweet and try to help make your job easier by bagging their own orders, especially if they have a specific way they want it bagged. They know you're going to have a long day and don't want you to struggle anymore than you have to.
6. The days you couldn't get out of bed because you just couldn't fathom going into work.
Sometimes work just doesn't seem like the viable option to spend 6 hours of your day, so you procrastinate and have to find a way to explain why you're a little late.
7. When the dividers aren't used for separate orders.

8. Perishables left around the end of the register.

9. When you work a long shift and your co-workers get out before you, when they came in after you.
Enough said for this one.
10. When you finally get to clock out, no matter how long the shift.
The feeling you get when you finally get to clock out is absolutely amazing; the day is finally done and you get to go home and sleep.
