11 Dorm Room Snacks You Can't Afford NOT To Put On Your College Grocery List

Living in a dorm is one of the most challenging parts of college. Between dealing with roommates everyday, struggling to keep everything clean, and no longer having your mom or dad around to cook you dinner, dorm room life can bring you down.

What's one thing that can make all these frustrations go away? Snacks!

Everyone loves snack food but it can be hard to decide which snacks are worth the money when you're shopping at Walmart. These are the best snacks to keep in your dorm room that will get you through all your tough college days, so be sure to add these to your grocery list.

1. Oreos

Giphy

Who doesn't love a delicious Oreo? Especially the Halloween themed ones. Don't forget to pick up some milk with this purchase, because you'll be craving to dunk your Oreos into something.

2. Popcorn

Giphy

Popcorn is one of the best foods to absentmindedly shove into your mouth while watching your favorite movie with your friends.

3. Ice cream

Giphy

I would highly suggest always keeping a pint of ice cream in your freezer. There's nothing like crying into Ben & Jerry's after a long day.

4. Peanut butter

Giphy

My sincerest apologies go out to anyone who is allergic to peanuts because you are truly missing out on one of life's yummiest delicacies. Peanut butter is the ideal snack because it can be used in plenty of ways. You can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, dunk apples into your peanut butter, or -- my favorite way -- just eat it by the spoonful.

5. Microwave macaroni and cheese

Giphy

Microwave mac and cheese is easy to make and deliciously unhealthy. But you have to ask yourself: Kraft or Velveeta?

6. Pringles

Giphy

These light and fluffy chips are an ideal snack. Be careful though, because it can be pretty easy to eat an entire can in one sitting.

7. Pop-Tarts

Giphy

Eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a midnight snack. You can never go wrong with a Pop-Tart.

8. Microwave oatmeal

Giphy

Any food that can be made in the microwave in two minutes or less is perfect for dorm life. Oatmeal may seem like a boring breakfast food, but you can always spice it up by adding some fresh fruit.

9. Pizza rolls

Giphy

You may not be able to make an entire pizza in a dorm room microwave, but you can definitely make some pizza rolls.

10. Bananas

Giphy

If you're yearning for a healthier snack, look no farther than a banana. They're the perfect fruit on-the-go, taste good with peanut butter, and can easily be stored in a dorm room.

11. Candy

Giphy

If you're like me, then you have a sweet tooth. My suggestion is to hide candy throughout your entire room. Whether it's chocolate or lollipops doesn't matter. All I know is that everyone needs some sugar in their life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
