"This is you!" my boyfriend said as he points to a Grinch onesie. I dislike Christmas so much. There's about two things I like about it—the lights and being with my family. I would not care if I never got a present again. I would rather my parents spend their money on themselves. Don't get me wrong, I love everything I get, I get excited about it all and I do not take it for granted but I don't really see the point to it all. Sometimes the holidays bum me out because when your whole family gets together, it's obvious who isn't there. It's sad to see my grandfather by himself without my grandmother by his side. I hate not having my dog sniff out her gift under the tree in the morning. Or not see my sister there because she has to work. I love, more than anything being with my family but there are moments that are a little tearful. It's cute to see the little ones all excited about Santa and to hear my boyfriend sing Christmas songs but it's only cute for so long. I can take Justin Bieber's and Glee's Christmas music but I can't take listening to Mariah Carey sing 24/7. After a while, those Christmas songs get annoying and people bragging about their gifts make you want to punch them in the face. Decorating the tree is a process in itself! We have to put the tinsel on just right or my mother will have a heart attack. It is nice to see most people have "holiday cheer" and be so nice but why can't we always be like that? I'm just not big on Christmas. So to all the Grinches during this season, here's to you. I understand you and you are not alone.
When people won't stop playing Christmas music:
I mean how many times can one person listen to Mariah Carey!
When someone's house is so decked out, where do they get the time for that?! And how much is their electric bill!?
When people are way over the top about their gifts:
When you're trying to find good gifts but it's impossible:
Drives me insane.
The mall is always so packed and hectic:
When the line to see Santa is huge and you have to walk out of your way to get around it:
When you start to think about people who aren't in the best conditions:
When there's five feet of snow and it's below zero degrees outside:
When you're forced to watch the same Christmas movies over and over again:
I'm sorry but Clark Griswold and the movie Elf will never be enjoyable to me, ever.
When people in your family still think you're about 12 years old and get you a gift card to Justice:
On the upside, you have a break from school!
