Greeks of the Week: Lisa & Lauren Ciabocchi

Let me tell ya 'bout my BEST FRANS! Two perfect twins and two perfect greek members of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Zeta Tau Alpha. If you know either of these fabulous gals (which many of y'all do because they are so popular), you are one lucky person because they can light up any room and fill hearts with so much joy.

I had the pleasure of interviewing these two lovely ladies this week. Take a look at what they had to say.

What was your favorite memory growing up together?

Lisa: My favorite memory is probably being in New York for Christmas when a huge snowstorm came through. The snow was piled up to our chests and we slid down the mount of snow from the plow for hours!

Lauren: My favorite memory growing up was definitely when we moved from Memphis to Little Rock and we shared a room until we were 16, yikes. I grew up loving the color pink and Sis [Lisa] loved purple. We couldn't decide what color to paint our room so we painted half purple and have pink, stab.

What's it like being in different sororities?

Lisa: It is so nice having your own thing that you don't have to share. We've shared everything and have always been known as the twins, so it's cool to have our own thing for once.

Lauren: Being in different houses was the biggest blessing. To this day people still have no idea I'm a twin and it cracks me up. Growing up we were always known as the twins. My biggest pet peeve is being called "hey twin" by the way. Being in different houses gave me time to become my own person and to serve my chapter in different positions without being compared to someone else. I love all of the Kappas and love that our friend groups mesh so well together.

If you could go anywhere in the world together, where would y'all choose?

Lisa: If we could go anywhere I'd go to Greece! It's so beautiful and we've always thought it would be incredible to go there.

Lauren: Yep, definitely Greece....ever since the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie.

Tell me about Prince. Who exactly is Prince?

Lauren: Prince  is the definition of perfection. He is the sweet dalmatian we rescued. He is a little on the dumb side, sorry Windsor, but gives the best hugs!

Lisa: Windsor is the most perfect creature I have ever met. He's a warm fuzz ball who never stops loving people. His nickname is Prince because he is royal and perfect.

Describe your definition of a perfect guy.

Lisa: a perfect guy for me is one who is my absolute best friend. Someone who makes me laugh until I cry and is the best listener. Someone who makes me want to be a better person and challenges me to be my best self every day.

Lauren: Hmm the perfect guy...not sure those exist BUT someone who is funny. I don't care if you're hair is thinning at 20, if you're funny I like ya. Someone who isn't afraid to be forward, must be genuine, and a dog lover.

What traits do you love about one another?

Lisa: I love that Sis [Lauren] is a morning person and sings about her lunch. She never sugar coats things, she and I have a totally different language, and she continues to make me laugh every day.

Lauren: What I love about Sis [Lisa] is that she is Sis. It's something I can't really describe. We are the best of friends, and I don't think many siblings can say that about each other. She's funny without trying and accepts my weirdness...especially my singing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
