Greek Life was a huge part of my Freshman year of college, and it continues to be a huge part of my summer, and will be for the next four years. Going Greek has taught me some of the most valuable life lessons, most of which I didn't even know I needed to know. Joining a sorority or fraternity can sound intimidating, and in some aspects it is. But making the decision to join a sorority will forever be one of the best decisions I have made. I am so thankful for all of my sisters, and for everyone else involved in Greek Life. Greek Life is the place for me, and I think it is the place for you too, and here's why.

1. I have more than just friends.

Being in a sorority has given me a home away from home. I can go to my sisters with any problems I am having, and they are always there. Joining a sorority has given me a family to rely on, and has given me the chance to be relied on. College is hard, stressful, and sometimes I want to quit, but with my sisters by my side I know I will get through it.

2. I am always involved on campus.

Being involved on campus is really easy and fun. What makes it more fun? When you can be involved with people who have the same goals and interests as you. The Greek community is so strong and when we all get involved together, campus activities are 6,000 times more fun to go to.

3. My time management skills have vastly improved.

Being in a sorority or a fraternity also means taking on the responsibility of taking on a position. All of the positions vary in the amount of time and effort required, but the bottom line is that every position is important, and does take some amount of time and effort. Taking on positions in my sorority has given me the time management skills that I need to manage not only my position but my life in general. Especially considering I feel like my life falls apart a lot.

4.Philanthropy.

Volunteering in college is a lot of fun. But, the thing about volunteering in college is that it may sounds tedious, and it might be hard to find time to volunteer. Joining a sorority has permanently engrained our philanthropy and volunteering into my life. Raising money and awareness every year for such an amazing cause (whether it be my sororities philanthropy or another organization's) is one of my favorite parts about going Greek because I love to see and feel like I am making a difference in the world.

5. Greek. Week.

Greek week is the one week of the year where all of the Greeks come together in friendly competition. This week is full of laughter and fun, and was by far my favorite week of the year. This week shows you how strong or weak your chapter is in different areas of competition, but ultimately this week shows you how close you are with everyone and that as Greeks, we all have the same idea in the end; to succeed, and continue to flourish in our community.

6. This community is my home away from home.

This community that has become so important to me is the community that is always there for me. Through my best and worst times, there is always someone I can go to, and for that, I am so grateful. College is so different and I have no idea how I would've survived this year without my sisters and fellow Greeks. These are the years that matter, and I am proud to say that I will be confident with who my friends are throughout these years.

We are all a family. I am so incredibly lucky to be a part of Greek Life, and I strongly encourage anyone to join a sorority or a fraternity. The lifetime sisters and brothers that come out of going Greek are so amazing, and the memories made along the way are memories that will last a lifetime. I am so excited for this year, to see all of the potential new members and people we can welcome in to our little family, and I hope this article can convince people to join us.

Greek Life tends to have a bad reputation, but don't let the media ruin your chances of becoming part of a forever family. We have fun, we laugh, we are competitive, and all in all, we wear our letters proudly.

"First you become a part of it, then it becomes a part of you."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
