“No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.”-The Greatest Showman
The lights dim, voices hush, and the commercials start. Friends and family point out movies that look fun to see, and ones that shouldn’t have even been made. Then it starts. Hugh Jackman’s voice shatters the silence with a beautiful opening. Before you know it you have been swept into the movie.
The camera work, acting, music, and storyline carry you away. Whatever you walked into the movie feeling or thinking about is gone as the all-star cast takes you on a journey of love, loss, adventure, and hope.
The Greatest Showman has to be one of the best movies that have come out in a very long time. Hugh Jackman once again demonstrated his incredible talent with his acting, dancing, and singing. Thorugh Jackman’s performance, you feel as if you really know P.T. Barnum and have experienced his life.
The performance was genuine, real, and beautiful. Michelle Williams brings innocence, beauty, and grace. Her voice provided the perfect accompaniment to Hugh Jackman’s and her dancing was flawless. Through her acting, you could connect with her character in an incredible way. Zendaya blew me away with her performance as well. From doing some of her own stunts to her beautiful voice, and amazing acting, she proved she is much more than just a Disney Channel actress.
Zac Efron and Zendaya proved to be a beautiful couple as they broke barriers and fell in love. Efron dazzled with his performance as his character went from cold to soft and strong as he fell in love with Zendaya’s character and the circus. The moment you hear Keala Settle sing, you will not want to stop listening.
The actress brought vulnerability, strength, and beauty to the show. Her singing matches that of Mariah Carey and is simply breathtaking. The cast worked beautifully creating a family that you will fall in love with.
The set, costumes, acting, stunts, music, and cast were absolutely phenomenal. Rewrite the Stars makes you long for love, This is Me brings confidence and a drive to take the world by storm, A Million Dreams makes you feel as if you can do anything and brings about a drive to chase after your dreams.
Those songs paired with the many others, captivating acting, and beautiful emotion makes you want to stay in the world of P.T. Barnum. The lessons of confidence, love, inner and outer beauty, and learning from past mistakes shine in The Greatest Showman. In a world of Fifty Shades, and crass cartoons, The Greatest Showman provides light, laughter, and a release from the world. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you go watch it. You will not be disappointed.
