8 Graduation Trip Ideas To Satisfy Your Wanderlust And Start Your Life In The 'Real World' Off Right

As the end of the semester approaches, I can’t help but notice the influx of graduation photos and announcements flooding my Instagram feed and popular page. It’s hard to imagine that next year that’ll be me (eep). But, for now, I’m stuck with daydreaming of the days I’m free from undergraduate assignments and countless nights in the library *sigh*. To pass the time, I started thinking up a list of all the incredible places I could go for my post-graduation, pre-real world trip.

1. Greece

I don’t know. Maybe the fact that I just finished watching "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and my obsession with anything to do with feta cheese just really really makes me want to go to Greece. Not to mention, the tickets are mostly affordable since Greece relies heavily on tourism to keep their economy afloat. Plus, it looks freaking gorgeous.

2. A hiking trip

I’m not even going to try and deny that this idea came from reading "Wild."But even though hiking the Pacific Crest Trail would be pretty awesome, I won’t limit myself to just one location. If I’m gonna be honest I would love hiking anywhere other than the flatlands of Florida.

3. Backpacking through Europe

Since my graduation is only a year away (I hope) this idea seems a little far-fetched. I know that this sorta trip would take months and months of planning and preparation. Still, one can dream.

4. Australia

Okay okay… I may be a little bit biased in saying this but if money was no object and I had to choose right now - I would go back to Australia hands down. Two years ago, I fell in love with this country and I would give anything to go back. From diving the Great Barrier Reef to experiencing the wetlands in South Australia, everything bit of this place is unreal. 11/10 recommend.

5. California: Wine Country

Since I’ll finally be 21 when I graduate, I figured a quick trip to the vineyards in Northern California would be a great way to celebrate graduation. Because nothing screams “I’m an adult” more than sipping overpriced wine in a fedora, right?

6. New York City

It may be cliché, but a trip to the city at some point or another seems to be a rite of passage in the States. If social media is good for anything, it’s showing me all the amazing, trendy food and coffee places in places that are way too far away from me (cough New York cough).

7. South Africa

Three words: Shark cage diving. My parents mentioned this as a possibility for when I graduated, but this was when I still planned on going to medical school so I’ll see if I can still swing it.

8. Hawaii

If I could choose one place to live in the United States, it would be Hawaii. Even though I’ve never been there, I already know that I would love it. But, in the meantime, I’ll settle for a quick trip.

If there’s one thing I’m looking forward to about graduation, this hypothetical trip is it.

Obviously, the places listed above are only a few of the places I could go, and it’s hard enough to choose one of these (they aren't in order of preference)! I’ll be hard-pressed to make a decision when the time comes. For now, I’m stuck writing an article about them in the library. (You gotta graduate before you can have a graduation trip, right?)

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
