To My Graduating Senior: As Told By "Harry Potter"

Graduation is just around the corner, and everyone is getting the jitters. This is a time that is not only scary for the people graduating, but also for the younger friends who are going to miss seeing the senior they look up to on campus every day.

1. It still hasn't hit me that you're graduating.

Why didn't you fail any of your classes to stay with me? Don't you love me?

2. When you told me you found a job, I cringed a little inside because I knew it meant you were really moving away.

What will I do when I am passing your (old?) building. I'm sure I will knock a few times out of habit forgetting that you are not on the other side of the door.

3. The name of your new employer is like saying "Voldermort."

Anything that takes you away from me is evil

4. But I am also extremely proud of you for getting employed.

No one has worked harder or is more deserving than you.

5. I'm always going to be proud to wear our school colors knowing that they brought me to you.

You shaped me into the person I am today, and for that I am forever grateful. The college workload is super overwhelming, and you taught me how to manage it with minimal mental breakdowns.

6. You always knew when I needed an extra push outside of my comfort zone.

But you also always let me make my own decisions.

7. And you taught me the truth about college.

It is worth suffering through to have met you.

8. You took care of me at my worst, and you celebrated with me at my best.

I am grateful for all of our memories, both good and bad.

9. I'm still lost and confused as to how I will get through the rest of college without you by my side.

Maybe you can stay in college with me and also work? At least consider the idea.

10. I also know that you will kick-ass in the real world.

No matter if it is a rocky road, I will always be proud of you.

11. I expect numerous texts and phone calls from you updating me on your life.

And you can expect the same from me.

12. Please never forget us little people when you go and take the world by storm.

I am envisioning you getting your own TV show because your life will be so awesome everyone will want to live vicariously through you.

13. We will never forget you and remember, I will always be here for you.

I love you and am so proud of everything you have accomplished!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
