At least once a day for the past two weeks, one of my best friends and I have been sending/sharing/talking about Barack Obama. Usually, it is something cute that he did with a little kid he just met or with his wife, other times it is just about how sad we are that he is leaving office.
Obama is the president we truly grew up with, we were just 11 years old when he came into office and as we enter our 20’s—a time filled with great uncertainty—the future of our country has become so uncertain too.
This election has been one of the most brutal and confusing elections in history. It is one where your opinion on who to vote for can change in an instant, at the release of a video or of an email.
This feeling is not much different in our daily lives as we transition from children or adults; every decision we are making right now depends on something else and that is what this election has been like.
By this time next week, we will be in a post-Obama world and that is frightening. Not because of his leadership, but because he is moving on with us.
In a few days, the next four years of the United States leadership will be decided and they will not include Obama.
His laughs, smiles and dad-dancing will be missed; but we must face the truth and realize it is time for all of us to move on.
Here are a few of my favorite Obama moments that I have both sent and received over the last few weeks:
Obama out. .
