I'm tired of hearing lies.
I'm tired seeing people who know the truth believe in those lies.
Lies that say that you are not wanted. Lies that say you are not enough. Lies that say God could never love you or that He doesn't care about you.
There is no excuse in believing these lies if you know what God has written in His Word. If you don't know or even if you do, here is a reminder of who we are in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says that we are made new in Christ. Our old self has passed away, and we are a new creation in Him.
Galatians 3:26 says that we are children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
According to John 8:26, if Christ has set us free, we are free indeed. There's no need to go back to bondage once He has broken our chains.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of Christ, so says Psalm 139:14.
In John 16:33, we know that we are victorious over a world of troubles because God has already overcome the world.
Psalm 103:12 proclaims that we are forgiven. Our sins are scattered as far as the east is from the west.
We know that we are precious, honored, and loved in His sight because of Isaiah 43:4.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that we are purposed and can have hope in the plans that God has for us.
There's no doubt that it can be easy to forget who we are in Christ. Amidst the chaos of the world around us, it doesn't feel like we are worthy or victorious or any of those things.
But even if we don't have confidence in ourselves, we can have confidence in our God. Let us not forget all that the Bible says that God is.
Psalm 86:15 says that God abounds in steadfast love and faithfulness.
In 1 John 4:8, it says that God is love. How can we say that God could never love us if He is love? The love of God is manifested in us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God is sufficient. His grace is enough for us, says 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Isaiah 41:10 commands us not to fear, because God is with us. He will be the one to strengthen us.
We know that we are delighted in. Zephaniah 3:17 says that our God is mighty to save, and that He rejoices over us with singing.
Isaiah 30:18 reminds us that God is full of grace, but He is also a God of justice. There is no one more righteous or just than Him.
John 14:6 confirms that we can believe all these things because God is truth.
The fact of the matter is that we are not worthy of anything by ourselves. We will never be enough; we will never measure up out of our own efforts. Instead of looking toward ourselves in every way that we fall short, let us turn our eyes on Christ. Stop drawing attention to your faults, and choose to boast in Jesus Christ and who He is.
Leave behind all those lies that seem to have captured you. God is not glorified when we cling to them or let them take root in our lives. We have the truth that says we are enough and that God is enough. You don't feel loved or wanted? That's OK, because we can have faith that we are because of who God is.
We know the truth; now we must walk in it.
