In a matter of months, you will be more than 4 thousand miles away from me. You will live in a different apartment complex, in a different city, and with different people. You will have a new daily routine, and this time it won't include picking me up from class or going out for dinner. For five months you will be across the world. While I am beyond happy for you, to gain these new life experiences and have this incredible opportunity, I will miss you more than you could ever imagine.

Have the time of your life. This is going to be a once and a lifetime experience for you. I want you to try one new thing every day that you haven't done before. Don't be scared of the unknown, or scared of getting lost.

Yeah, I may not see you for the semester, but that doesn't mean you won't hear from me! I recently found out how expensive overseas postage is, yikes, but I will talk to you as often as you can! I'll e-mail you weekly of all the craziness that is my college life without my best friend. Skype will be our go-to and I cannot wait to see pictures of your amazing trips. While I know that you will meet amazing people who will have your back, just know that no matter how far away you are, I am always going to be here.

Five months is a long time. 152 days to be exact. A lot is going to change. Your hair will be longer the next time I see you. You'll have new clothes that I haven't seen, but will be dying to borrow. You'll have stories to tell me about all the different places you visited. You'll have inside jokes with your new friends that I won't understand. I will have a lot to tell you about a boy you haven't met or drama that has occurred since you left. It will be different, I am not going to lie to you. A lot is going to have changed by the time you arrive back in the states, but our friendship is not one of them.

Have a blast. Live with no regrets. Make memories that will last you a lifetime. Take the train and travel as far as you can. Step out of your comfort zone. Immerse yourself in the culture of every city you visit. This is the time do everything you have ever wanted to. Waste no time and take advantage of every opportunity that is laid out in front of you. I am beyond happy for you and so proud to be able to call you one of my best friends.

Oh, and don't forget about me.

I'm not going to say goodbye, just a see you later, my friend.

Love always, XOXO.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
