It’s that time of year again, where October flies by and the month of December creeps in… Wait a minute. No it doesn’t, November does.
So what’s with all the early Christmas decorations and candy? The month of November has barely even started, and there are already life-sized blow-up Santas outside of people’s houses, stocking stuffers filling up the dollar section at Target, and peppermint coffee food and drink everywhere.
Now, I’m not going to lie, I love Christmas, but why do we always feel the need to rush it? We rush into buying gifts for family and friends. Others put up Christmas decor weeks in advance, and put up Christmas trees as well. Well, some say it’s because it's their favorite season of all time. It is true; Christmas is most people’s favorite season. Here are some reasons why Christmas is most likely rushed by all beloved Christmas gurus:
1. I have two words for you: CHRISTMAS MUSIC!
2. Decorations. From Christmas lights to wreaths on the door, everybody loves a little Christmas decor.
3. Watching the best Christmas movies, like "Christmas with the Kranks," "ELF," or "Home Alone."
4. Finding the perfect Christmas tree
5. Baking for your family or for parties.
6. Having family and friends over for Christmas parties.
7. Sharing stories over Christmas dinner.
8. Going to a Christmas party with friends.
9. Seeing family you haven't seen in years, but you can see on Christmas.
10. Watching people open up their gifts and seeing the excitement on their faces.
11. Candy canes, whether you eat them or just look at them.
12. Family traditions.
13. Watching EVERY "Santa Claus" movie ever, because why not?
14. Spending a few minutes of Christmas Eve wishing you were a kid again.
15. Then realizing how long you parents lied to you about Santa.
16. Homemade hot chocolate.
17. Eggnog? Guess it depends on the person.
18. Homemade crafts that you got from Pinterest.
19. Hiding the Elf of the Shelf.
20. For some, church on Christmas Eve.
21. Making snowmen or sledding.
22. Singing "Feliz Navidad" and "The Twelve Days of Christmas" with you whole family on Christmas Day.
23. Reminiscing on childhood Christmas memories.
24. Secret Santa.
25. Wrapping Christmas presents.
26. Decorating gingerbread houses.
27. Waiting for Santa.
28. Baking cookies for Santa.
29. Driving in the car at night to see all the Christmas lights.
30. Creating your own Christmas memories with the ones you love.
And last but not least, just remember the most important thing about Christmas isn't the amount of presents underneath the tree, but all of the people who come together to be around it with you.
