Why Saying Goodbye Is So Much Harder Than It Has To Be

Good-bye seems to be a simple phrase in my everyday life. From saying good-bye to my mom as I leave for the day, or ending a phone call with that same "bye," this word seems to evolve in my everyday actions. But there are just some good-byes that aren't as easy to say. So here are some good-byes that I would like to send off that may relate to you that seem to be harder than usual:

Good-bye to my best friends. Good-bye to our amazing summer together spend with laughs, cries and love. Good-bye to the friends I lost. Good-bye to the hopes of keeping a special friendship we once had. Good-bye to family. Good-bye having every single one of you by my side as i figure out my life at home. Good-bye to this town. Good-bye to being able to sit on my front porch sipping coffee and recognizing everyone who walks by. Good-bye to my puppy. Good-bye to waking up to you excited to see me and ready to cuddle up at night. Good-bye to my home. Good-bye to the craziness that surrounds our cute little house. Good-bye to seeing you every week. Good-bye to bringing you flowers and telling you about my life because even though you aren't here on Earth, you are with me in spirit. Good-bye to my siblings. Good-bye to our endless banter and support we give one another. Good-bye to my mom. Good-bye to being able to walk in your room and talk about anything at any time. Thank you for teaching me what my real worth is all about. Lastly, Good-bye to someone who makes me smile every time I see them. Good-bye to my grandpa who teaches me everyday to live life to the fullest. Good-bye to your endless advice that I needed more than once. You were my greatest hello and hardest good-bye.

Although these seem to be my hardest good-byes there are more to come, so as I ponder with these good-byes I am ready to find some new hellos through a new chapter in my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
