15 Struggles Of Being The Youngest Child
Sparknotes

Being the last born in your family can be considered both a blessing and a curse. There are just some struggles that only the youngest sibling can relate to.

1. Forever being referred to as "the baby," no matter your age

2. Questioning your identity because everyone seems to know you as "so-and-so's little brother/sister"

3. Winning by being able to meet all of your older sibling's attractive friends

4. But having to hear that your friends find your sibling hot

5. By the time you achieve important milestones (birthdays, graduation, awards, etc.), everyone is sick of going big and just ends up going home

6. Having one baby picture in comparison to your sibling's 1001

7. Therefore believing that your family really did adopt you

8. Then there's the stressful situation of lying to your parents on your sibling's behalf

9. And knowing that the saying "snitches get stitches" is no joke

10. But having to whip out your blackmail in the case that someone refuses to cooperate with your demands

11. Always being accused of being your parents' favorite

12. Actually being everyone's favorite, if we're being honest

13. And when it comes to dating, you always have your own personal interrogators

14. Not to mention, an on-call Uber driver

15. But through thick and thin, your siblings will always be your full-time friends

It's not easy holding the title of the youngest, but hey -- someone has to do it. You may never know how it feels to do anything first, seniority will never be your favorite, and you're a little too used to comparisons; but it's a small sacrifice. So if you're reading this, props to you, baby of the bunch. You're the real MVP!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
