For Those Who Are Afraid To Go After What They Want

Life is entirely way to short to spend it living in your comfort zone.

For Those Who Are Afraid To Go After What They Want
Katey Freeman

All of the time I hear people say that they want something so badly. What they want can be any number of things: a dream job, to pursue their dream of being in a musical or even something like traveling the world and volunteering. While I understand that there might be some limitations due to financial situations and what not, that doesn't mean you shouldn't chase your dream.

To anyone who is on the fence about chasing a dream, this message is for you. JUST DO IT! Honestly, just go after whatever it is that you can't stop thinking about. I know it might seem scary, and I know that there are no guarantees, but don't let that stop you. Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.

For some, I know that you obviously can't just drop everything and leave, but you can set a goal. You set that goal, and then you work towards it, set money aside, make preparations and establish a fallback plan.

Take the necessary precautions that you need to and then go. Go chase your dreams; do all of the things that scare you. After all, being scared means you are about to do something really, really brave.

Life is entirely way to short to spend it living in your comfort zone.

If you always do the same things, you will always get the same results. You can't live in your comfort zone and then wonder why nothing is changing. It is outside of your comfort zone that you are challenged to grow and change.

I know growing and changing can also be scary, but wouldn't you rather look back on your life and say, "I did it, I pushed myself every day to try new things, to grow and to become the very best version of myself," than to give into the fear? I know that when I look back at my life, I will see my mistakes and failures, but I will also see all of the successes that I had because I took chances and chased my dreams.

I know that taking that leap of faith is scary, but honestly, if you can't go one day without thinking about it, and you know in your gut that it is something you want, then just do it and don't look back.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
