Lots of people say college is the time to "find yourself." However, remember that you don't have to "find yourself" right away, and that your "image" to other people doesn't matter. Just go out and live life. Let yourself have fun, and the rest will come along.
1. Go to Concerts
Go to as many concerts as you can, bring friends, and have a good time. There's an indescribable pulse of energy that flows through you when you're on the floor of a concert. You'll be squished between strangers, sweaty and under-hydrated, but the pure excitement of everyone in the room will be enough to make you jump up and down, not to mention seeing your favorite artist perform live on stage.2. Stay Up All Night
Some of my best memories are from late-night adventures I've had with my friends. I've stargazed at 2 in the morning at the park near my old elementary school, discovered an old "saloon" in the middle of nowhere where people were line-dancing, and just sat at a table playing card games all night, talking with friends and laughing until we cried.
3. Try Something New
Whether it's trying a new restaurant or going rock climbing for the first time, trying something new can lead to so many opportunities. It's easy to get stuck in a certain routine. While routines can be good for staying on track and being productive, it's also good to mix things up once in a while.
4. Call Your Loved Ones
Life can get crazy sometimes, and it's important to take a break from it all. Call up your friend you've been missing or FaceTime your parents. I'm grateful to have friends that I can go a long time without seeing and still know they'll always have my back. But it's still so nice to hear from them once in awhile, even if it's only a couple of minutes.
5. Go Outside
Climb the tallest tree you can, hike with your friends and talk about life, or have a picnic in a park. It doesn't matter what you do. Just go outside and have a look around. Nature is pretty spectacular. You may be surprised by how much you enjoy it.
6. Paint
Paint, draw, sculpt, or just do anything creative. You don't have to be the best artist in the world to enjoy getting your hands dirty. Art is a great way to express yourself. Turn on your favorite song, and just create.
7. Believe in Yourself
Start believing that you can do anything, and then work to make that thing happen. Don't wait for someone to tell you that you're great. Decide that you are. You can get anything you want out of life if you are willing to work for it.
8. Read
Find a book, magazine, blog or anything to read that you enjoy. Read something that transports you to another universe and makes you stay up all night. Your imagination expands, and you can learn so much. It's easy to get glued to a T.V. screen, but afterwards you usually feel lazy and tired. After reading a good book, you should feel energy running through your veins and the need to talk about all your thoughts.
9. Say "Yes"
My life has been changed in so many ways by simply answering "yes." In my sophomore year of high school, I joined my school's leadership program and met some of my closest friends to this day. I've accepted multiple jobs that were new and scary to me. I was nervous at first, but each one brought me new knowledge and friendships. It's important to take advantage of every opportunity you come across. All you have to do is say "yes."
