In a world full of hate, it's so easy to overlook the love. Sometimes, most times even, it is subtle. You have to truly look at this world and find those moments. Discover them:

Love can be found in a man holding his wife in his arms as their car plunges downward. Knowing this is their final moment, he wraps her up and holds her. They move from this life to the next in each other's arms.

Love can be found in a mother sacrificing herself for her child. As the bullet leaves the gun, the mother makes a decision that she will lay down her life for love.

Love can be found in the child who is snuggling with her furry friend. Both peacefully sleeping as his paw never loses contact with her skin.

Love can be found in helping that old woman to her car. And asking her if there's anything else she needs. She looks at you with the kindest eyes and gives the most genuine thank you ever said.

Love can be found in the parents who foster both children and pets. Realizing that both lives have value. Realizing that both lives are incredibly special.

Love can be found in the dad accepting his son for who he is. He realizes that while his boy may be gay, that does not define who he is.

Love can be found in that teenage boy who ditches his popular friends to go eat lunch with the kid sitting all by himself.

Love can be found in visiting your grandfather in the nursing home instead of going to that party. It's listening to his stories that you've heard a thousand times but never interrupting. Just taking in the wisdom he has to offer.

Love can be found in the mom who refuses to give up on her paralyzed dog. Her back legs may not work but her tail and heart sure do. So she devotes everything she has into making this dog's life special.

Love can be found in the tears we shed as we say goodbye to a loved one. As we place a flower on the tombstone and smile at the sky. Knowing someone is smiling back.

Love can be found in the professor who gives up her day to meet with a struggling student. She sees her student as so much more than just a name and a grade. She gives the student hope and reminds her that when everything is crashing down around her, she'll always be there to help her rebuild.

Love can be found in the rolling down of a window. Letting your dog stick her head out the window instead of leaving her behind.

Love can be found in the little boy saying a silent prayer for the widow next door.

Love can be found on the shoulder covered in tears as she lets her best friend fall apart. She lets her know that she will never leave her side, no matter how hard this life gets.

Love can be found in the father missing his meeting in order to make it to his son's baseball game. He will be punished tomorrow, but tonight it is all about his boy.

Love can be found in scheduling the appointment to send your dog to heaven. You know they are suffering, so you put their well-being ahead of yours.

Love can be found in the person who stops and talks to the man on the edge of the bridge. She assures him that this life is worth it. Whatever storm comes, it's always worth it. They walk away from the edge together.

Love can be found in the drug addict who puts down the pills. As much as he wants to take one, he realizes the toll it takes on his family. So he makes the decision to put their wants above his own.

Look around you. Open your eyes. Start to notice the good in this world. See through the evil and believe that good will always win in the end. Some battles may be won by darkness, but at the end of the war, there will be light.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
