Glasses have been a part of my face for the majority of my life. I got my first pair at age five (to my chagrin), and they have been a staple in my life, and on my face, everyday since. While the first year or so was rough, I have grown to love wearing glasses, sans a few things.
If you lose your glasses, it's near-impossible to find them.
Especially when you wake up in the morning to find you knocked your glasses off the bedside table.
Lying on your side is a no-no.
Late night tweeting is often hindered by the necessity to actually see the screen.
Picking out new glasses is a ritual, and an important one at that.
You're going to be wearing these glasses everyday for at least the next year! It's important to choose ones you won't get tired of and that won't clash with your wardrobe.
At some point in your life, contacts were your only goal.
Whether you stopped wearing them after a week, or you still wear them daily, at one point contacts were a far-off dream of which you were begging your parents.
You've tried wearing both glasses and sunglasses at least once in your life.
You probably even made fun of yourself and called yourself "six-eyes."
Haircuts can be scary.
When you can't see what's happening, you have to have a lot of trust in your hairdresser to style your hair without your oversight.
When you're not wearing glasses, sometimes you poke your nose.
Old habits die hard.
Your glasses fog up all the time.
Whether it be from your face heating up to going inside after being in the cold, you've perfecting wiping your glasses off.
You don't know what it's like to wake up and just...see.
People with 20/20 vision just don't understand how great they have it.
