As my own, along with many others, favorite time of the year starts rolling around I think its time to start giving a little thanks to all the amazing people and things that have impacted my life with a little tribute. Growing up, I don’t think I really understood what the holidays are really about. As a kid thanksgiving was about eating food until you have a enormous food baby sitting in your stomach, and Christmas was about waking up early and finding all the amazing presents sitting under the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Now the holidays represent more than just that; this time of the year is about giving back and realizing how truly grateful I am for all the blessings that I have.
1. College
CSU has been on the biggest blessings that I have. It’s incredible how many people don’t have the opportunity to get a college education. Not only do I get to further my schooling, but I get to spend my time in such an amazing place. I am so grateful for this amazing school.
2. Friends
The friends that have graced my life are truly some of the best people I know. They have made me laugh until I cry, and smile when I need some cheering up. Friends like these are the kind of people I want to have for the rest of my life. They make the bad times good and the good times better. I am so grateful for all my amazing friends.
3. Family
Where do I even begin? God truly gave me some of the best family that walks this planet. Not only have they raised me to have impeccable morals and values, they showed me what it means to truly love people unconditionally. My brother, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, extended family, family friends, and of course my amazing parents. You guys truly mean everything to me, and I am so grateful to have all of your guys in my life.
4. Roof over my head and a bed to sleep in
I think this is one of the biggest things that we all take for granted. I usually don’t stop to think about how fortunate I am that I can come home to a warm house and sleep in my own bed. I am so grateful for all the little things.
These are four of things I am so incredibly thankful for but know there are a million more. During this holiday season, I challenge everyone to give thanks to all that we have to be grateful for. I hope that everyone finds love and happiness during this holiday season.
