If you give a girl a kitten, she will think you're the greatest person in the world.
She will love that kitten and cherish it as it grows.
You will all grow attached as well, but you won't let her know it.
You will name it "Sasha," because she is very fierce. Then you will find out it's a boy and change the spelling because he already goes by the name "Sascha."
She will feed that kitten seven times a day and you will wonder where your money is going.
He will run away but always find his way back.
One day, though, he won't find his way back home, and on the night the girl graduates, she will be heartbroken.
For a month and a half, you won't know where the poor boy went, until on the birthday of her brother, the kitten is discovered in another neighborhood.
When you bring him home, she will be the happiest girl in the world. Happiest girls in the world will never want to let him out of sight.
The kitten will grow into a fierce, gray-haired, green-eyed cat, who hardly hisses, but will always fight. Many nights you will want to throw him out of the house and lock the door, but know that it would not be the best thing to do. But you'll throw him out anyway so that you can get some sleep.
And when she lets him back him, she will scoop him up and kisses his cheek, then set him down and feed him seven times a day.
And she will always cherish the little cat named Sascha, the fiercest cat ever known.
