It’s okay to be the stereotypical girly girl. It doesn’t mean you’re dumb and fall into every category the movies portray us as. Just because you’re a girly girl who loves everything pink doesn’t mean you eat a salad everyday. Chances are you probably eat like a grown man. But, a lot of the stereotypes are true for most girly girls.

1. Wearing the most uncomfortable shoes even if they leave you with blisters. Beauty is pain, ladies.

You feel like you have been walking on pins and needles all day, but want to show off those cute new heels you just got. So you’re just going to have to deal with the immense pain I guess.

2. Your favorite color actually is NOT pink, yet you still want everything in pink.

3. Wearing things that aren’t weather/event appropriate.

Wearing thin mittens in negative degree weather because you pick cute over practical. Or, maybe you wore a dress and heels on a 14 hour car ride.

4. Falling in love with the finer things in life.

Everything you touch in a store seems to be five hundred dollars over your budget. Yeah, it’s a struggle. You already know you need to make bank in your future career to support your lifestyle.

5. Getting dressed up even if you’re not going anywhere.

You know, all those times you took an hour to get ready just to go through the Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru.

6. Wanting everything in either a floral pattern or covered in sparkles.

Sometimes you will try to pick something plain out, but you just can’t help yourself!

7. Waking up 3 hours earlier than you actually need to, to get ready.

It’s tough, but you know you just can’t walk around campus looking like a zombie. You just can’t.

8. You never skip an eyebrow waxing. NEVER.

Because you just can’t risk anyone thinking you’re related to gorillas.

9. Having to pick what clothes to pack for a trip.

This is probably some of the hardest decisions in your life. You can’t choose between your favorite shirts and once you do you’ll regret it wish you packed the other one instead. You also probably pack five backup outfits for a three day trip, just to be on the safe side.

10. Having multiples of the same products.

You definitely have at least 3 different curling irons: A normal 1 inch wand, a travel sized one, and a thicker wand for those desired loose wavy curls.

11. You never skip a facial.

You know the importance of renewing your skin and freeing your pores. Some people just don’t get it.

12. Lastly, you know there’s a difference between sparkles and glitter.

Sparkles refract light and glitter reflects light.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from.
