One of my favorite things to do every day is eat. Every meal is the most important one, in my opinion. I can drop money on tacos and ice cream ten times quicker than I'll spend it on things I really need, and nothing is quite as sad as a friend who doesn't want to get food. It's essential to life, but some of us are just a bit more passionate about it.
1. We get hangry so easily, and so often.
So often when I'm in a bad mood it can be fixed with food. It's really hard to be sad when faced with pizza rolls. And even if the sadness can't be cured by a plate, at least you aren't sad and hungry.
2. Snacking all day, every day.
Articles about healthy eating are forever saying a couple light snacks a day are enough. Light? Twice a day? No thank you. My pantry has more snack foods than real foods. And honestly, it's pretty easy to make regular food into a snack. You're only limited by your hunger.
3. Getting asked, "you're still eating?"
Yes, I'm going to eat more. It's delicious. It makes me happy. Why does it matter how much I eat? Finding friends who don't judge me for the amount I eat sometimes was one of the best things I've done for myself.
4. Spending way too much money on food.
Fast food, groceries, actually eating out at places: it all costs money, and a pretty good amount of it. Sometimes I find myself cringing when I check my bank account and see how empty it is, because I just had to have nuggets every day.
5. The rare occasion you aren't hungry and it gets questioned.
If I ever don't feel like eating, I usually get suspicious looks from my friends. It's pretty understandable, but also can be a pain fielding questions about being sick. Even a girl who loves food can be full sometimes!
Food has its problems like everything, but it's totally worth it. At the end of the day it's one thing that always has my back. More than anything else, food will always be my one true love.
