"Why are girls so complicated?"

This is something I've heard guys question way too many times.

Or, my favorite, "You tell me to say one thing and then I end up being wrong anyway; I can't take hints."

Boys, I get it, us women are definitely our own species. But I promise you, we are not as complicated as we may seem; for the most part, we more so just want a man who puts forth the effort to try and understand. To simplify this in "man language", here is a list of things girls wish guys knew as told by Joey Tribbiani from "Friends".

1. A text in the morning as simple as "hey babe, today is going to be pretty busy" will save us a lot of stress.

We get it, you have your own lives outside of us, just like we do you. We completely understand that, and no, we won't get mad. Just please communicate that with us. Women tend to overthink, and while you're just having a busy day, we will probably be paranoid with the thoughts of the worst-case scenario.

2. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT talk about your ex-girlfriend(s).

There is nothing more unattractive than when a guy brings up something regarding his ex. It makes us feel like we're in constant comparison, and honestly, could really bring down our confidence level and give us mixed vibes.

3. Show her off

Show her how proud you are to call her yours. That's not being "whipped", it makes her feel so appreciated.

4. Pizza and Netflix nights are ten times better than going out to a fancy dinner.

Now, do not get me wrong, we definitely like to be treated to a night out here and there, but you honestly can not go wrong with pizza... or chicken wings. We enjoy kicking back and hanging out, but please do not address this by "lets Netflix & chill", because that's just gross and actually turns us off.

5. We WANT commitments and efforts, but that doesn't require rushing into things with you.

For whatever reason, it seems like the idea of a commitment scares guys. The thing with women is that we don't want our time to be wasted. Yes, we do get emotionally attached, but that doesn't mean after date number two or three it's time to call things official. Please just be honest with us from the get-go, and tell us your intentions; do not try and protect our feelings, please just be honest with us.

6. If you do take us out and we say we "don't care", that's a total lie. Reality check: WE DO.

It's just kind of nice when a guy preconceives plans. Before you take a girl out, instead of asking her where she'd like to go, (because I guarantee you, she'll respond with "whatever you want"), tell her where you want to take her, it makes it all that much more special.

7. And if we offer to share our food, it's more than likely an empty offer... Unless we're really into you.

Women can honestly eat to the equivalence of an NFL lineman if we really want to.

8. It's not about what you say, but more-so how you say it.

This is a big one. Let's say you're exhausted, and having a long day, don't tell your girl that "you don't feel like coming over" because then she'll interpret it as you don't want to hang out with her. Be sensitive with communicating to women. As silly as it sounds, the reassurance really matters; we are delicate and can be emotional creatures, but I blame the hormones.

9. If we are actually in the mood to love all over you, then don't push us away

Just let us do it. Unless you legitimately cannot even.

10. A pretty face is nothing if you're a total ass wipe.

Honestly, nice guys DO NOT finish last. Respect and courtesy are so rare these days, and when a man actually wants to act like a gentleman, it really is the most attractive essence.

11. If we've had a bad day, sometimes silence and a really tight hug are all that we need.

We either really do not want to talk about it, or all we do is RANT about whatever pissed us off that day. On the days our stress levels are high, and we just don't feel ourselves, a long hug and a kiss on the forehead is the best medication for the blues.

12. We genuinely don't care if you go have a night with the guys, we really are not that psychotic...

Please, honestly, sometimes we need a break from you as well. Just keep us updated every so often so we know you're not off in a ditch three states away.

13. If we give you a response of "what?" it's not because we didn't hear you.

It's because we are giving you a second chance to reevaluate whatever it was you just said to us.

14. Just tell us if you want it; don't try and throw us hints, because we probably won't pick up on them, or we will just overthink it.

You say you hate when we're confusing? It's a two-way street, my dude. Be straight up with us, don't leave us guessing!

15. If you compliment us, it without a doubt makes the rest of our week.

Compliments put us on Cloud 9, especially because we only feel pretty if we're all dolled up. Natural beauty compliments melt the hearts.

16. We enjoy seeing your goofy and vulnerable side.

There is honestly nothing sweeter than seeing someone's goofy side. If you start dancing and singing, I promise I got you on backup. ;)

17. "How much longer until you're ready?" Five minutes could actually mean five, but if it turns into twenty, do not be surprised.

You think we just wake up like this? ;)

18. The answer to the question "do you want dessert?" is always a YES.

Chocolate is ALWAYS a good idea. We're women, that's the motto. Win our hearts with fine wine and chocolate.

How you doing trying to keep up with this? Women can be crazy, but we honestly do have the best intentions with all the love to give to the right man. We don't understand men as much as men (probably) don't understand us. Communication is key, just tell us what's on your mind and keep us reassured; we're only human, and we will reciprocate.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
