Lately, we have noticed big changes for females. Women have officially created history with the first female Presidential Nominee for a major party. Also, women in the music industry are breaking out and creating music that empowers women. This new sound makes them feel good and speaks to them because it's sung and written by other women. Girls should feel empowered and confident in their skin and in the things they do. Music like this can boost your mood and get you excited and pumped up for the day or for a project.

Here are some girl power songs I believe girls should have in their girl power playlist.

1. "Confident" Demi Lovato (2015)

Always be confident in yourself and in what you do. Be confident in your body no mater the shape, size or color. Don't care what others say!

2. "Run the World (Girls)" Beyonce (2011)

Girls! They may say this is a man's world—please. Sweetie, girls run this world!

3. "Survivor" Destiny's Child (2001)

Everything that you are put through, you can overcome it. You are a survivor! Always stronger and braver than before. Skin is thicker and smarter. You go, girl!

4. "Born this Way" Lady Gaga (2011)

You were born in the way god intended you to be. You are unique and beautiful. Embrace it you gorgeous human! Love yourself!

5. "Stronger" Britney Spears (2000)

Every day you become stronger through all the obstacles in life. Don't let anything bring you down. You are strong and can do anything you put your mind to!

6. "Fight Song" Rachel Platten (2015)

We can overcome anything, believe in yourself and those around you. Anything can cause a ripple effect, don't be scared to try something new because you can accomplish it with your brave heart!

7. "Bo$$" Fifth Harmony (2014)

Be your own boss. Work for what you want, you are powerful and intelligent. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. "Every day is pay day" anyway!

8. "Love Myself" Hailee Steinfeld (2015)

I can't stress this enough! Always, always, always love yourself and your flaws. It's what makes you you!

9. "Wings" Little Mix (2012)

Learn to take criticism well and just brush it off. Don't let words and bullies get to you. Let it help you grown and "spread your wings"!

10. "Who Says?" Selena Gomez and The Scene (2014)

Who cares what others say? Who cares what others think about your clothes or makeup? If you like it, wear it. If you want to study a certain major, then study it. Go for everything you want!

11. "Flawless" Beyonce (2014)

You are flawless in your own beautiful way. Flip your hair to the haters and continue doing you!

12. "No scrubs" TLC (1999)

Know your worth! Know the difference between a man and a boy. Scrubs don't deserve your time or even your number. A man will give you his time and affection and knows what he wants and has ambitions. Boys just want a piece of you. Do not give into a scrub, sweetheart.

13. "The Night is Still Young" Nicki Minaj (2014)

Have fun! Have fun with your friends whether it'd be at your house while watching Netflix or out a fun party. Enjoy it, and don't think about it too much. Let go and let loose.

14. "Raise Your Glass" P!nk (2010)

It's all right to be wrong. Embrace it! We all make mistakes, it's how we learn in life. It's OK. You'll live, I promise!

15. "We Can't Stop" Miley Cyrus (2013)

We all live our lives how we want, and when we want. Life is one big party, so we can do what we want!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
