Girl Pop To Get You Through Midterms

It's midterms time, and we are all in need of a 20 hour nap and an espresso IV drip. But unfortunately, nobody has time for a long nap or an endless supply of Carrot Cake Lattes. Sometimes all you need is a little break from your studies and an upbeat song or two to get you through the next few weeks until Thanksgiving. The songs below are 5 girl pop power bops to get you back in the groove.

1. "Can't Pin Me Down" - Marina and the Diamonds

The 7th track on her 2015 album "Froot", this song if great for reminding you how rad you really are. It's so catchy! You'll find yourself singing these lyrics all day long. "You can paint me any color, I can be your Russian doll. But you don't have my number, no you can't make me small." Show 'em who's boss!

2. "Pity Party" - Melanie Martinez

So maybe you're frustrated, you can't seem to get all the formulas right or this research project just isn't coming together. Melanie Martinez's "Pity Party" is the perfect song for you. "I'm laughing, I'm crying, it feels like I'm dying." Me too, Melanie.

3. "High By The Beach" - Lana Del Rey

4. "Gasoline" - Halsey

We can still reminisce over Summer, right? With all the assignments hitting me like a ton of bricks, I'd do anything to lay in the sand. Find this catchy tune on Lana's "Honeymoon" album.

5. "How To Be A Heartbreaker" - Marina And The Diamonds

"Are you insane like me? Been in pain like me?" bop to get you going. Exactly what I ask anyone who tells me that taking 18 hours wasn't a terrible idea. Found on Halsey's debut album "Badlands", this song is a surefire

This song from Marina's sophomore album "Electra Heart" screams "GIRL POWER". Super upbeat and catchy, it'll give you the confidence you need to pass that Biology exam. Or, of course, break some hearts.

So go out there, rock those midterms! You've got the power of girl pop and 10 times the recommended amount of caffeine in your blood, you can do anything!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
