Being the one person that never fits in anywhere, no matter what it is, can be hard. Going from high school to college thinking that you will finally find a group you fit in with -- You find that group and it is great for a while and then you feel like you are right back in high school feeling left out of things and not really being who you are. Yes, you have some friends you have the best time with, but yet you never really feel popular or important even if you are in an important position. Could it be your personality? Could it be that people don't want to be around you? Being that type of person can be hard but it has it perks.
It is okay to be yourself. If you aren't yourself, then nobody will truly see who you are. Always be you and you will find those people who stick beside you no matter what. Don't worry about finding a group to fit in because sometimes it is best to be a part of a lot of groups and have a few friends from each then only be in one group. If you feel like nobody is listening, don't worry. There will always be at least one person who listens to you. Finally, don't quit being who you are, and don't quit voicing your opinions. That is what makes you you, and that is the most important thing.
Yes, I am this girl, but while in college, I have learned that you don't always have to fit in with a certain group. Sometimes, keeping to yourself is good because that way you stay true to yourself. Having a few friends instead of a lot of friends is better because I can be myself more and be personal with the friends that are just like me or enjoy my company. Never dwell on the past because getting older, you find out that there are a lot of people that want to see you fail and a lot of people who have no interest in you, but that is okay because one day they will look back and say "I wish I would have given her a chance." Someone will always love you and want you to be a part of their life and that is important. So just keep being you and if you don't fit in then find someone who doesn't fit in with you and be a team.
