Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

The witty comments, the endless coffee, and the endless references to pop culture. Gilmore Girls will now live forever since it has been released on Netflix. The moment the mini series was released, it gave us inside, but also brought about some questions. After all these years 'living' with this cast, it's almost like we are part of the family. But can we really live up to being a Gilmore?

Drinking Coffee

A true Gilmore has a caffeine tolerance that is unknown to even the manliest of men. These women can drink more coffee in a day then I do in a year or more. So, if it takes a chronic coffee addiction to be a Gilmore, well I don't wanna say I'm already out but maybe I can switch the coffee for tea?

Food

I honesty do not know how these girls put away everything they eat and still remain in such great shape without working out. Fear not, I have had this under control since as long as I can remember. Cosmic brownies, white powdered donuts, tacos, and so much more. I may not eat as much junk food as I used to, but I still live the Gilmore lifestyle when it comes to food regardless!

Quirky Best Friend

Luckily I already have this part of being a Gilmore Girl. She is the Sookie to my Lorelai or maybe more like the Lane to my Rory. I could probably go on and on with comparisons but I know you get the point.

Small Town Living

It may not be Stars Hollow, CT, but it has the same type of living in a way. Both have the town regulars, the local hang outs, the town festivals, and the 'Kirk' of the town. Trust me, we have it all and way more in Chester, SC.

Be An Amazing Woman

I am still working on this one but so far I think I'm doing an awesome job. When compared to these women, I have to say that so far I have a little bit of all the honorable Gilmore ladies, but I have a lot more from the Marsh women in my family. They are two women who truly remind me of Emily and Lorelai Gilmore, however they may not get the reference when they read this just because I don't believe they have watched the whole series. Luckily I got them both on Netflix!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
