One of the hardest thing about being in a relationship for five years (yes, I know it is a long time) is finding gifts to make/buy for four different occasions. This is the first year I have actually finished my boyfriend's Christmas present in advance. Usually I am rushing the day of to finish! So, I thought I would share some of my past gifts for those of you who procrastinate like me and have no idea what to get your person for Christmas!

1. Lovopoly

I found this idea on Pinterest and fell in love! This was not exactly easy, but it was well worth the time and effort. So, I based everything off of the real monopoly game and kept all of the amounts the same. As for the places on the board, I choose some of our favorite stores, restaurants, etc. The railroads were places we want to travel. Chance and community chest changed to family jewels and get lucky!

2. Photo Collage

First, I apologize that this is blurry, it is the only picture I have. This is pretty self-explanatory: buy a cheap frame (Dollar Tree), pick your favorite photos, make a collage on an app or a word document, print and Viola!

3. You're My Greatest Adventure Globe

I bought this blank, black globe at Target, but you can find them pretty much anywhere. I took a white paint pen and wrote, "You're my greatest adventure" and our anniversary date!

4. Engraved Pocket Watch

I found this by googling, "engrave-able pocket watch" and found this one on Etsy for only $20. I chose the saying based on something David and I tell each other, but obviously, you can put anything you want on it!

5. Open When Letters

Again, Pinterest is your friend when it comes to this one. In this selection of letters, I also included "open when you have a bad day" and "when you think about the future" notes. I tried to include a surprise in each such as play-dough (outside the letter) and a candy bar!

6. "I love you" Jar

All you need for this is a mason jar, popsicle sticks (or slips of paper), and things you love about your significant other! Just write something on each stick/paper for them to read later!

7. Memory Book (AKA EPIC Scrapbook)

For this project, I bought a sketchbook from Hobby Lobby and then I put a whole mix of things in it! I included memories, pictures, puns, and lists. I also bought the extra inspirational saying stickers that you see in this picture at Hobby Lobby in a scrapbooking pack!

8. Retro Viewer

I came across this idea by chance and I still love it! I chose my favorite pictures of us and the website did the rest! Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://www.image3d.com/retroviewer/customer/accou...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
