GIFs To Explain The Pokemon Go! Experience

I believe by this point, just about anyone will admit to have already downloaded the popular app Pokémon Go! on their cell phone. Whether it was just to check it out, or to make it a possible part-time job, millions have given in to this overnight phenomenon. As someone who was never in to Pokémon as a child, I can guarantee you that interest in the TV show or brand is beside the point here. It does not matter if you are 72 or 5 years old, this game is a gold mine. It is one of the few video games that gets kids active and outside, even if it requires consistently staring at their iPhones. However, no one can deny the pure genius, yet simple idea, that went into making this game. It's the kind of invention that makes you wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?"

If you want to lie and tell me that you haven't downloaded the game yet, here are just a few GIFs to describe the experience of Pokémon Go!. For all you amateurs out there, what are you waiting for?

First, you download the app and you're just excited to see what all the hype is about.

Then you realize that this is actually the coolest game since Santa gave you a Wii.

You walk around and catch your very first Pokemon. You're just in awe.

"I didn't know I had it in me!"

So you keep catching more.

You get a little into it.

Occasionally, one gets away from you

But it's okay, because you're basically swinging balls left and right like you're a freaking Pokemaster.

So then you decide to do the impossible: drive and Pokemon

"I can handle it."

Then you think about the consequences and realize it's probably not the best idea.

So you decide to go for a joy ride instead and just enjoy the view. Roll your windows down. Let in some fresh air.

You see one person on their cell phone and you think, "I know exactly what you're playing."

So then you drive downtown, only to watch the whole freaking city on their cell phones playing Pokemon!

They aren't even paying attention to where they're going.

Do they even realize there is a giant pothole there?

You actually see one person run into a bicycler.

However, it does make you think about your friends and how much fun it would be to play with them right now.

So, you call up your pals and it's an instant Pokemon Party. You guys are in it to win it.

Pokemon and friends. You're basically living the dream.

Suddenly, you and your friends are getting close. You can sense a Pokemon coming on

But you catch it, so it's all good.

After a while you catch a new one that your friend has never seen before.

But then your friend does the same thing and it's just like an automatic enemy.

I mean, you're the one who's basically the Pokemon messiah right? You run like lightening.

And you dodge pedestrians and poles like it's nothing.

You even get a little fancy at times.

Okay, never mind, we don't talk about that.

You were the one who looked up all the cool tricks and hacks at 2 am.

And freaking told your friends about the game in the first place

"So there I was, sprinting to get that Rattata..."

You're the winner. You're the Champion.

Oh, gotta' go, there's a Pikachu!

Damn, I'm good.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
