Christmas is a bright and shiny time of year. if you are looking for some new traditions, or maybe wanting to continue some old ones check out these eight Christmas activities.
Go to a tree farm
My first Christmas activity I do each year is going to a tree farm. My family and I cut down a tree for the house! Not everyone does live trees, so if you don't get your tree set up! And if you're in a dorm you can find a "Grow your own Spruce Tree" on many websites like Amazon.
Decorate your house/dorm
Whether big or small, you can always decorate for the holiday season. Besides a tree, I like to decorate with: lights, snowmen, stockings, Santas, and nutcrackers.
Listen to Christmas music
Another great way to get in the holiday spirit is to sing your heart out while listening to holiday tunes. Right now my favorite playlist is "Christmas Pop" on Spotify.
Movie time
It wouldn't be Christmas without cheesy Hallmark movies, but now Netflix has made some of their own! Here are a few to start your movie binge:
"The Princess Switch"
"The Holliday Calender"
"The Christmas Prince"
"Christmas Inheritance"
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
Hot coco
With the weather being so chilly I love to warm up with hot cocoa. For a little extra flavor and "Homemade" feel, I make my cocoa on the stove. I warm the milk in a pan and add hot cocoa packets, chocolate morsels, cinnamon, and stir in a little Hershey syrup when it's finished!
Christmas PJ's
My all-time favorite part of Christmas is comfy pj's that match with my family! Every year we get our PJs from Old Navy. Many other stores like Target, Macy's, and many online websites also carry them.
Ugly sweater
Another good way to show your holiday spirit is with ugly Christmas sweaters! And normally stores selling "ugly" sweaters actually make them very cute! My sweater from Target has snowmen on it with sunglasses and it says "chillin' with my snowmies"
Baking cookies
Everyone loves sugary treats and making cookies. Get together with friends and make some cookies. Sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles are a Christmas classic.
After you've completed every item on this list, do it again! Christmas is the best time of the year, and well who couldn't eat cookies all month long.
