How can I get involved?
- Join a club- Our campus has many clubs, unique and diverse. Did you know we have our own Bollywood dance club? Not many colleges or schools in general have something like this. Farmingdale State College provides many opportunities for students to get involved. If you do not feel comfortable joining a club that is not your preference then you are even entitled to start your own club. Recently we even got our own music club, how neat is that?
- Join a team- Farmingdale State College is a NCAA Division three college. What does that mean? It means that they are not to be taken lightly but they do accept new students who are willing to compete and train hard with and without the team. Everyone is accepting and willing to help you even if you are not the best athlete to compete.
- Try Rushing for a Fraternity or Sorority- A fraternity or sorority is a group of people coming together for professional or specific interests. In this case, that is a brotherhood (If you are trying to rush for a fraternity) or a sisterhood (Sorority). Both fraternities and sororities come together to help raise awareness for good causes, or raise money for charity. Rushing for a fraternity or sorority also helps boost up your profile for resumes when it comes to getting a career in the near future and helps develops good connections with businesses. You meet all sorts of people and you even get a chance to know members who have been there for a long time.
