Remember when Justin Bieber first got famous back in 2009? Teenage girls went cray cray. Since the good old Justin Bieber days, I vowed I would never go crazy for a guitar-playing boy ever again but well, there's a new heartthrob on the block. His name is Shawn Mendes. Here are a couple of reasons to go crazy over Mendes.

1. Shawn LOVES kids.

If you don't follow him on Instagram, this is for you. Shawn always posts pictures of him with little kids. I don't know about you, but I love a guy who loves kids. Husband material or what?

2. He is family oriented.

As you can see from these super cute pictures, Shawn is family oriented. He is always talking about how important family is to him. Being with someone who is family oriented is important. If a guy places a significant amount of value on his family, it means he realizes family is important in life and that is a great quality to have, especially in this period of time when so many families end up in ruin. Mama Mendes did a good job with him.

3. He has a great sense of humor.

It's always good to be with someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously. What girl would like a guy who is serious ALL of the time? A little humor never hurt anyone. Thankfully, Mendes knows how to have a good time. He is always being goofy. You can see how seriously he takes himself through this selfie.

4. His BOD.

This one is for all of the teenage girls out there. Ok, this one isn't as important as the others, but it's still worth mentioning. Shawn has a great body. There's no debate. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this mirror selfie??????????????!!!!!!!!

5. Shawn is a Potter fan.

Last but not least, the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter. Shawn is a Potter fan. In an interview, he even admitted to picking branches from trees and creating wands out of them. Very nerdy but also very cute. This is Shawn sporting a nifty Gryffindor jacket and Potter glasses.
