To My Future Husband

Some day, I know you will come along.

Dear Future Husband,

Oh man, I hope you exist.

It's hard to imagine ever settling down and finding someone I will be with for the rest of my life. It's a little scary and sometimes I feel this ideal life is unattainable, especially in our day in age. It's amazing to think that there is someone either who you have already met or have yet to meet who will be your soul mate. The person you were meant to be with and whom you will start a family with. I know I just have to have patience and wait for you to come around, because just like the fantasy created in every young girls mind, we all have our prince charming. I'm perfectly okay with kissing a few toads to get to you and be my happiest. Whether it may be in the near future or 20 years from now, I can't wait to start our love story.

A thousand questions overflow me but I know someday I'll have all the answers. I can't wait to find out what the first thing that made me fall for you was. What are your quirks? Or even what you look like.

I want to begin this by making a promise to you that I hope to stick with until the day we part.

I vow to stay at your side and support you in all you do, even if I think it is completely absurd.

I vow to love and care for you during all times of our journey, even during times of stress.

I vow to not only be your wife but your companion, best friend, and "person".

I vow to stay faithful and trustworthy in all aspects.

I vow to laugh at all your jokes even if I might not find them funny, but then again I laugh at everything.

I vow to make you feel secure and safe because I know at times everyone has their moments of insecurity.

I pray that you accept me for all my strengths and weaknesses, I will not be perfect and I will be damaged. I have been ripped apart in the past and only hope you will be able to piece me back together. Even with my past, I will never give up on finding someone special, I am still hopeful and I pray you will be the one to prove the boys of the past wrong.

Please have patience with me as I will do the same, times will be stressful but the strongest relationships last if we work together.

I can't wait to see what life has in store for me but the best you must always save the best for last and masterpieces take time. With every heartbreak, tear and insecurity I know it only makes me stronger and hopefully it will al be worth it.

I know I am young and naive but I have a lot of time to grow as a person. I might not have all the answers but some day, with time, I will be wise enough.

Here's to whoever you are and the memories that will be made.

Sincerely,

The Girl With a Hopeful Heart

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
