I want to say thank you in advance, for all of the selfless things you will do for me throughout this upcoming year. I’d like to make you some promises that I will keep over the next year to ensure that I am just as good of a roommate to you as I know you will be to me.
1. I promise to learn from you.
I will never be too stubborn to change my ways.
2. I promise to always share my wine.
Because sharing is caring. And even though you can’t buy happiness, you can buy wine, and since that’s pretty much the same thing, let’s both pour a glass of happy.
3.I promise to listen to all of your problems.
Even if it is 2am, if you have something on your mind, let it be on mine as well.
4. I promise to never be annoyed at your complaints.
I can assure you, for every complaint you have, I probably have about five more.
5. I promise to never take you for granted.
Even though I have a roommate that will be my best friend, support system, and Mom living five feet away from me, I will never stop appreciating everything you do for me.
6. I promise to always be your biggest fan.
You will have some successes and some failures this year, but through it all, I will be there cheering you on.
7. I promise to try and be quiet when I wake up before you.
I know that in my head, I am a lot quieter than I actually am. With that being said, I also promise to apologize for every cabinet, drawer, or door I accidentally slam.
8. I promise to act like your mom, but only sometimes.
Everyone needs someone to text them and make sure they are okay when it’s 1am and still aren’t back to the room.
9. I promise to be completely honest with you.
As hard as it may be to hear, I’m going to tell you if your outfit doesn’t look right.
10. I promise not to eat your food.
I would take this promise a little lighter than the others, you know I can't resist a good cookie.
11. I promise to make this the best year yet.
Hopefully the only tears we cry this year will be from laughing too hard.
Let’s make the most of this year together. As we grow individually and our opinions start to differ, let’s not lose sight of our friendship; I can promise you, I won’t.
