Millions of people on this planet want nothing more than to be parents. They dream of having one, two, or even ten rambunctious little ones running around the house, playing, singing, and creating memories. Despite the sleepless nights, crying, inconvenient illnesses, and hectic days, people want there own "mini-me" to grow with and raise to be a good-hearted person.

Quite often, unfortunately, parents run into the risk of hereditary diseases when they procreate. Family medical histories often include heart disease, cancer, addiction, or disability. While a large number of couples take into consideration the risks they take, I fear not enough couples consider the benefits of adoption.

Over 100,00 children in the United States are currently in foster care and eligible for adoption. That's not even including foreign countries. But that's 100,000 kids who need a permanent, caring, comfortable home. These kids are sick and tired of being bounced from house to house and school to school.

For those people out there who want nothing more than to be a parent, please take a strong consideration to adopting a child. Instead of taking the risk of passing a hereditary disease to a biological child, adopt a child who needs you.

The adoption process may not be easy. While I've never adopted a child or attempted the process, I understand it has numerous requirements and costs a large sum of money. However, there is a saying out there that goes, "If it isn't easy, it isn't worth it." Going by that, if it is difficult to adopt a child, the reward of finally adopting a vibrant kid will definitely be worth it.

The world is already overcrowded. Give an existing child a new life. Do some research about the requirements for adoption. Begin setting up your home, saving money, and asking for references. Be patient with the process, too. And remember, it doesn't matter if you adopt in or out of the states. There is a child somewhere on this planet who needs your home, your love, and your care.

I understand that the idea of having a biological child puts a sense of pride in people's heads. Raising children with their last name and furthering their legacy is one of the greatest accomplishment imaginable. However, the benefits of adopting are so much greater. Not only will your sense of pride grow by having a child with your last name, you will also know that you did the greatest deed for a child in need. You are also helping the whole of society by making it that much less crowded.

Before risking the passing of diseases, please think about adopting.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
