Dear Future Little,
You're probably googling this type of article or flipping through your newsfeed on Facebook. Recruitment is a daunting mission you've accepted for your college experience and you probably have some reservations about it, like anyone else would. You're probably wondering to yourself whether or not you're going to fit in, going to find the perfect big, and whether or not you'll be able to maintain grades with all the pressures of a sisterhood.
Well, little one, I have some news for you.
Don't worry about all of that. When it comes to my little, I'll always take care of you. I remember when I was at my absolute lowest--my big scooped me up and reminded me that I was loved. That's exactly what I promise to do for you.
I believe that we're going to brush paths along the way to recruitment quite soon. When I met my big, we exchanged a quick glance during Preference Round, the last day before the notorious Bid Day (don't worry, you'll learn these terms later). Even though I didn't know a thing about her, not even her name, I knew how gorgeous she was, and how much she loved her sisterhood. Sure, she could've been smiling at thin air, or even another PNM, but I took that as a sign. A month went by and I didn't think that we would ever cross paths again. We sat next to each other at a party and instantly clicked. I imagine that's how you and I will eventually meet.
Now, onto what I will do for you. Just like my big did for me, I promise to be that shoulder you cry on, even if you have a boyfriend. I promise that I will be the one to give you the birthday punches, to lift up your self esteem when you need it the most, and to reward you with surprise pastries of your choice before class.
I've never had a little before, and that's okay.
I do know what it's like to have a best friend, and I think that the feeling is similar. Both mutually selected, it's my duty to be there for you just as you should be there for me. It's my duty to protect you when I know certain guys will do you wrong. It's my duty to show you the better things in life, and to show you that college is not all about finding who your future husband is, but to also find where your best friend is as well.
Until then,
Your Big
